Did you know that Knowing Him is Eternal life?

Do you know Him-?

In the Old Testament, know means more than knowledge. It implies an intimate relationship. The communion between God the Father and God the Son is the core of their relationship. For anyone else to know God, God must reveal himself to that person, by the Son’s choice (Matthew 11:27). How fortunate we are that Jesus has clearly revealed God to us, as well as His truth and how we can know Him.

Jesus issued a great call to those who in faith would turn to Him. Jesus had previously condemned that generation for their childish reactions. In Matthew 11:16-19, Jesus declared that true discipleship can be enjoyed only by those who come to Him in childlike faith. In John 17:3 Jesus tells us clearly that by Knowing God, the Father himself, and the one He sent to earth—Jesus, is eternal life.

We need to ask Jesus to give us the strength to surrender our life fully to Jesus so, He can be our Lord and Savior. It is a personal relationship of intimacy which is continuous and dynamic. The word “know” (ginōskōsin) is used often to describe the intimacy of a sexual relationship similar to that of a husband has with his wife while making love.

God in His good pleasure had hidden the great mysteries of His wise dealings from the wise and learned (the leaders of that day) but had revealed them to little children. This was possible because God the Son and God the Father know each other perfectly in the intimacy of the Trinity. Matthew 11:27 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him”.

Eternal life is not simply endless existence. Everyone will exist somewhere forever, but the question is where will they exist for eternity? In Heaven or Hell?

In what condition is your relationship will Jesus? Do you know Him well? Have you surrendered yourself fully to Him?

Father help us to discover Your truth about eternal life through Your son, Jesus. Lord we seek to walk with you and be with you in Heaven for eternity. Please speak to us through Your Holy Spirit to keep us on the path of righteousness ALL the way into Heaven! In Jesus name. Amen.

In His grip,

Bill
