Paul states in Phil 2:5-8, “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death — even death on a cross!”
As believers (those who are entrusting our lives to Jesus), we are being molded into the likeness of Christ Jesus, who is One with the Father in heaven.
If we decide to place our reliance squarely on Jesus, He will lead us in a lifelong discipline of transforming the way we live and think. In The Screwtape Letters, C. S. Lewis describes humility a being so free from any bias in our direction that we can rejoice in our successes and abilities as frankly and gratefully as those people around us.
God has given each us unique gifts – not because we, individually, are greater or more valuable than the people around us, but because He has specific plans for each of us …. plans to prosper us and not to harm us … plans to give us hope and a future with Him!
Dear Lord, I seek to place my life fully in your hands, to guide me down the path of righteousness and to avoid the pitfalls of life that can stop us in our tracks; I love you Jesus and seek with all my heart to entrust you with my life fully and completely to lead me down the pathway of life all the way into heaven!
In Christ,
Bill
