Today we find ourselves in a pandemic crisis that is totally out of our control. Many living near us are worried, anxious or discouraged due to concerns about their family’s health and/or the health of the economy.
But I am moved by God’s promises to always be there for those who believe in Him. Followers of Jesus need to keep our eyes on Him and not our circumstances …. keep our FAITH, keep our FOCUS on the WHO and not the WHAT! For the things we focus on may become our reality; so, let’s turn to the Lord and keep our eyes, heart, and soul focused on Jesus!
Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek Him”.
James 1:2-4 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
How can we go through this trial with joy?
We need to be aware of what distracts us today and not be distracted by the expectation. Keep in mind our requests to God don’t have to be reasonable — they can be BOLD. “Prayer does not fit us the greater work; prayer is the greater work. Prayer is the battle; it is a matter of indifference where you are. Whichever way God engineers’ circumstances, our duty is to pray.” ~Oswald Chambers
Those doctors, nurses, law enforcement and others working on the frontline of defense to combat this virus and keep peace deserve and need our prayers! As do all of the other essential workers who keep our supply chain of food and medicine going.
I encourage you to pray for your family, friends, colleagues, neighbors and those serving in hospitals, medical clinics, senior care facilities, and the general population during this time of the worldwide COVID19 pandemic.
Almighty God, we come to you with open arms seeking for you to rescue us from the anxiety and worry surrounding us in our world today. Lord, provide us the strength to reach out to our family members, friends, neighbors and business associates seeking for them a hedge of protection, reminding them that You are in control, knowing that Your grace is sufficient for us and them, guiding us with prayers for each one of them and helping them to open their hearts to You and seek for you with all their heart, mind and soul.
